KANGAROO ISLAND ADVENTURE TOUR 2 days 1 night


Kangaroo Island is the third largest island off the Australian coast. It is 155 km long and up to 55 km wide and is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Fresh air and down to earth, KI connects with nature lovers and the adventurous with its unspoilt wilderness. Kangaroo Island is a microcosm of landscapes and environments: dramatic coastlines, sheltered beaches, pristine bush land, rolling farmland, dense forests, sweeping sand dunes, solitary lighthouses... From sunrise to sunset, you will be enthralled by nature at its very best here in the island paradise.

 ITINERARY

DAY 1-SATURDAY

7.15 am Meet bus at Elder Hall, University of Adelaide; 7.30 am Depart Adelaide; 9.30 am Arrive at the ferry terminal, Cape Jervis; 10.00 am 45 minute ferry to Penneshaw before arriving on Kangaroo Island; 11.00 am Depart for Little Sahara to explore the spectacular sand dunes and go sand boarding; 12.00 pm Depart for Vivonne Bay where we will have lunch; 1:00 pm Depart for the magnificent Point Ellen, where we will have lunch, and spend the afternoon swimming, playing beach games, beach cricket and taking groups snorkeling; 5.00 pm Depart for Vivonne Bay, Settle into our accommodation; 7.00 pm Dinner; 8.30 pm Night Exploration and stargazing

DAY 2-SUNDAY

7.00 am Everyone to wake up, and get packed for Adelaide; 8.00 am Continental Breakfast; 8.30 am Depart for Flinders Chase National Park; 9.30 am Arrive at Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse and Admirals Arch, Visit the spectacular Remarkable Rocks; 11.00 am Travel to Rocky River for lunch. We will spend a little time in the Visitor's Centre where we will learn about the Indigenous history of the Island, and about other aspects of Australian Aboriginal culture and the history of Kangaroo Island; 1.45 pm Depart for Kelly Hill Caves; 2.15 pm Show cave tour; 2.15 pm Depart for Vivonne Bay; 3.00 pm Depart for Seal Bay guided tour where we get to see Sea Lions in their natural environment; 5.15 pm Depart for Penneshaw; 6.00 pm Pizza on the Waterfront or on the ferry - time permitting; 7.00 pm Everyone to walk to the ferry as a group; 7.30 pm Ferry Departs for Cape Jervis, arrives on the mainland, and we will depart for Adelaide; 10.00 pm Arrive at designated point in Adelaide
