General Information The easiest way to explore one of the scenic delights of Golden Bay. We drive you well into the heart of the Kahurangi National Park, initially through the deep forested gorge of the Takaka river, then up one of the highest public roads in New Zealand to the Cobb Ridge.
We show you rare native plants, describe the history of the building of the Cobb Dam, relate the wonderful romantic story of 'The exiles of Asbestos Cottage', the runaway lovers Henry and Annie Chaffey. The trip has many interesting short walks into rarely visited spots only known to locals. We provide a picnic lunch, all you provide is sturdy shoes, jacket and camera.
