Day Spring into Nature at Waterholes

Day Spring into Nature at Waterholes
Graded: EASY

- Fully accommodated.
- Easy nature walks.

The upper reaches of the Nicholson River boast lovely rocky channels where the water bubbles and tumbles, beautiful still pools with clear reflections and a lively and vocal frog population in spring.

What a beautiful place to switch off to the stresses of everyday life.

Enjoy easy ambles with nature through the forested foothills and riverside habitats of the Nicholson River Valley, north of Bairnsdale.

Listen to stories of the area's rich history and marvel at the tenacity of early settlers and mining communities.

During the day these peaceful forests are filled with birdlife and the signs of passing wildlife.

At night they come alive with possums and gliders feeding amongst the treetops and wallabies and wombats foraging on the forest floor.

Listen carefully, sometimes owls are heard too.

Wildflowers in spring - first you see the shrubs heavily clothes in heads of flower, then you look closer and find tiny orchids and lots of delicate blooms at your feet.

Be spoilt with first class guesthouse accommodation and meals at Waterholes Guesthouse.

Enjoy lots of interaction with nature and lots of time to just relax and enjoy the serene setting.

Touring with lots of short easy nature walks.
