Dachstein Circular hike

Dachstein Circular hiking tour 2011 - 11 days

„World natural and cultural heritage region"
Since 1997 the 2995m high Dachstein carries this title awarded by the UNESCO together with the village Hallstatt and the inner Salzkammergut.

Requirements and general information
During the tour round the Dachstein you are mostly in high alpine terrain. Adequate mountain gear: ankle-high boots, functional clothes, rucksack, food & water, rain & sun protection, first-aid kit, mobile phone, possibly hiking sticks as well as stamina and fitness are necessary. Signing every hut-book eternalises your tour. The walking distance per day is planned at around 5 to 8 hours. The paths are well signposted but sometimes the markings can still be covered by snow. Hence, it is imperative that you take your maps and the Dachstein hikers book with you. Guidance by an experienced hiking guide on request!

The carrying out of this tour is dependent on weather conditions! Alternative walking routes are alwayspossible.
